Detailed information on Vintage Signed 12 Edith Herbert John Painted Wood Chicken, Navajo Folk Art

This Navajo folk art Chicken is signed by artist Edith John. Hand carved and hand painted white with black dots and black legs. Mounted on a natural wood base. This chicken measures 12 tall not including the straw plumes of the tail, and the tail adds about another 4” to the total height. The chicken is about 4 wide measuring sideways from the beak to the hind end, and 3 across measuring the chest of the chicken. The base is 4 in diameter and is signed in magic marker Edith John. I am the original owner. This chicken is in great vintage condition and has been part of my extended chicken collection. (Does that make me vintage too?) The plumes are bent and haphazard yet that is how even new chickens come. Weighs 1-lb unpacked.
