As MistXI continues to grow, we want to share an important update about the future direction of server development.
After careful consideration, we’re officially shifting our primary development focus to 75-era Final Fantasy XI gameplay.
What This Means
🏹 75-Era Development Becomes the Priority
Going forward, most new development, balancing work, and content updates will be centered around classic 75-era play. This includes:
- Era-accurate progression and pacing
- Group-focused content and challenges
- A design philosophy that emphasizes cooperation, preparation, and long-term goals
The 75 era represents a defining period of FFXI, and we want to dedicate our time and energy to delivering a thoughtful, authentic experience in that space.
⚔️ The Level 99 Server Is Not Going Away
It’s important to be clear: the level 99 server will remain online and playable.
Players who enjoy modern-era mechanics, faster progression, or experimenting with endgame content at 99 will still be able to do so. The server will remain accessible and supported at a basic level.
However, active development and new features will be focused on the 75-era environment.
Why This Change?
This decision wasn’t made lightly. Over time, it’s become clear that:
- The 75 era aligns more closely with MistXI’s long-term vision
- Development resources are best focused where they can have the most impact
- The community interest in era-accurate progression continues to grow
By narrowing our focus, we can deliver a more polished, cohesive experience rather than stretching development too thin.
Looking Ahead
This shift allows us to:
- Improve stability and balance
- Introduce meaningful quality-of-life improvements without compromising era authenticity
- Build a strong foundation for future 75-era content and events
As always, community feedback matters. We’ll continue listening, adjusting, and communicating openly as this transition unfolds.
Thank you for being part of MistXI — whether you’re reliving the 75 era or enjoying the freedom of 99, we’re glad you’re here.
See you in Vana’diel.
